Hours before the Maryland football team's second practice Saturday, coach Randy Edsall, quarterback C.J. Brown and linebacker Matt Robinson (Atholton) stood side by side just beyond the end zone at Byrd Stadium as Gatorade buckets full of ice water were dumped over their heads.

Like many around the country in recent days, they had decided to take part in the “Ice Bucket Challenge,” which is intended to raise awareness of ALS, often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Edsall, Brown and Robinson had been challenged by director of strength and conditioning Drew Wilson and team spokesman Matt Taylor.
