Randy Edsall has Maryland off to a 4-0 start and ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 poll. Ken Niumatalolo was a virtual unknown when he was promoted to succeed Paul Johnson at Navy in 2008. Though he has used the same triple-option and has had the same defensive coordinator in Buddy Green, Niumatalolo has kept the Navy program at the same high level as his predecessor, with only one losing season. But taking over a successful program is a bit easier than rebuilding a perennial loser, and what Rob Ambrose has done in five years at Towson is nothing short of remarkable. After winning just three games his first two years, Ambrose has turned the Tigers into national championship contenders. PICK: Ambrose.
