Kansas guard transfer Andrew White, whom Maryland had targeted this offseason, has committed to Nebraska.
White, who left Kansas after the spring semester of his sophomore season, will sit out this season and have two seasons of eligibility remaining at Nebraska starting with the 2015-16 season.
White visited Nebraska at the end of June, coming to Lincoln with his family. He had a great time on the visit but said he wasn't going to make his decision quickly. He also visited Notre Dame, which he also enjoyed. White was supposed to take a visit to Florida State, but it was canceled just days before the trip.
He visited Maryland last weekend.
"It was an all-around great visit. It was an official visit, and we got up their mid-day and stayed for five or six hours," White told InsideMDSports.com's Jeff Ermann. "We saw the campus, the facilities and talked about how I would fit in the system."
The 6-foot-6 wing player appeared in 19 games last season and averaged 2.3 points. The Virginia native was the No. 68 player in the country for the 2012 class, according to 247Sports.To gain access to all of InsideMDSports.com's premium Maryland basketball, football and recruiting content, click HERE.
