Former Maryland linebacker Darin Drakeford is trying out for the New York Jets today, according to a source.
Drakeford had previous stints with the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Giants.
He went undrafted last year and signed with the Chiefs before being released and then signed to the Giants' practice squad.
At Maryland, Drakeford recorded 122 tackles, two sacks, five forced fumbles and an interception for his career.
The 6-foot-1, 238-pound player has 4.6 speed in the 40-yard dash and a 30-inch vertical leap.
He played in high school at Thedore Roosevelt in Washington where he was a two-time All-Met selection who had 124 tackles, 14 sacks and four forced fumbles as a senior.
