Five of Maryland's potential basketball recruits in ESPN's top 100

Five basketball recruits interest in the Terps are ranked in ESPN's top 100.

Five players who have shown interest in the Maryland men’s basketball team are ranked in the Class of 2016’s top 100 in the new ESPN ratings.

Anthony Cowan, a 6-foot point guard from Bowie who is the only player to orally commit so far, moved into the top 100 for the first time, at No. 87.

Two players who are taking official visits on the same weekend in early September made significant jumps.

Wenyen Gabriel, a 6-9 forward who plays at a prep school in Wilbraham, Mass, rocketed from the low 80s to No. 23 and was moved from a four-star prospect to a five-star.

Kevin Huerter, a 6-5 guard from Clifton, N.Y., who was previously rated in the high 70s, is now 41.

Brandon Robinson, a 6-5 guard from Douglasville, Ga., is ranked No. 63. Robinson will officially visit on the second weekend in September.

Taurean Thompson, a 6-9 forward from Jersey City, N.J., is No. 89.
