Breakdown: If David Ezeagwu were as talented as his twin brother, Daniel, or if Daniel were as talented as David, their recruiting process probably would have been considerably simpler. Consider: Marcus and Markieff Morris were both very talented high school basketball players, to the point where Kansas wanted both. Offensive linemen Mike and Maurkice Pouncey were both good enough for Florida, and so both became Gators. That’s the kind of thing twins do. But what happens when, say, one twin is good enough for an ACC school and the other is not? Daniel Ezeagwu visited Maryland last month with an offer, sure he had a future in the program if he wanted one. Tripping to College Park with him was David, a linebacker and a solid football player. Maryland coaches told Daniel why they wanted him. They told David they would want to see him at prep school, or maybe as a preferred walk-on. The official visit ended with Daniel committing to the Terps and Daniel looking to ahead to a visit to James Madison, a Football Championship Subdivision school that has offered him and one Daniel has said he’s “pretty sure” his brother will attend. And because they’re twins, a reunion might not be far off. Who will Daniel and the Terps open next season against? It could be David and the Dukes.
