But Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim said it is his team – not Maryland -- that earned the right to gripe about missed foul calls.
“Well first of all, let me just tell you this,” Boeheim said. “They shot 27 free throws. If anybody is going to complain about the officiating, I’m going to complain. And I think I did enough of that Saturday (in a loss to Duke),” said Boeheim, who was ejected against the Blue Devils for arguing a late charging foul assessed to C.J. Fair.

“Five times that we saw them (the Terps) going to the basket that there was no foul and there was a foul called five times. You want to talk about one play? I’ll talk about five times. If they didn’t turn it over 18 times, they wouldn’t have had to worry about that,” Boeheim said.
Maryland's 18 turnovers led to 26 Syracuse points. Maryland shot 19-for-27 from the foul line. The Orange went to the line six times, making three.
Boeheim seemed incredulous that Maryland would single out a late call that went against the Terps.
“Complain about the call?” he said. "You're kidding me."
The Terps trailed 56-55 when Fair missed a shot with 16 seconds left and Maryland collected the rebound. Faust drove to the basket and was met by Baye Moussa Keita, who was credited with the block. Maryland was forced to foul and the Orange hung on for the win.
"I thought Nick got fouled," Turgeon said. “"I think the replay showed that. It’s been that kind of year for us. Didn’t call it.”
Turgeon said Syracuse “was ripe to be beat. They just had a big game – an emotional game – Saturday. (Jerami) Grant got hurt (injuring his back against Maryland). It was right there for us. I felt like in this building, if we play the way we’re capable, we’re better. It’s easy for me to say. We didn’t do it. Syracuse won the game. I think we’re better than they are in this building if we play the way we’re capable and don’t turn it over.”
