Two goals by Bulls help UMBC to 3-0 victory at La Salle

Sophomore forward Andrew Bulls (McDonogh) scored two first-half goals, leading visiting UMBC (9-0-0) to a 3-0 victory over La Salle (3-4-1) in the Retrievers' first road game of the season. Bulls, the nation's leading scorer, netted his 11th and 12th goals of the season in the 22nd and 29th minutes, and freshman Matt Knight added a goal in the 89th minute to extend UMBC's school-record winning streak to start a season. Freshman goalkeeper Phil Saunders (Perry Hall) made five saves to record his fourth consecutive shutout and his fifth of the season. The Retrievers, who ended an 11-game road winless streak, have not allowed a goal in the past 435 minutes. Bulls has 20 career goals in 26 games, and his 12 goals is the most in a season since Derek McElligott scored 15 in the 2003 campaign.

Loyola: The host Greyhounds (3-4-1) dominated for much of the second half, but No. 14 Monmouth (8-0-0) got a goal from Ryan Clark with 12:07 remaining to record a 1-0 nonconference victory in front of 1,322 Family Weekend spectators on Diane Geppi-Aikens Field.

Mount St. Mary's: George Washington scored three unanswered goals to defeat the Mount, 4-2, in a nonconference game. Eric Detzel scored his second goal this season for the Mount (1-6-0).
