Jets: Sanchez injury not that serious

The New York Jets deny reports that quarterback Mark Sanchez is injured more seriously than the team has let on.

Sanchez was injured during the Jets' preseason game against the New York Giants on Aug. 24.

ESPN reported that Sanchez has a partially-torn labrum in his right shoulder. He was seen throwing left-handed while warming up before Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fox Sports reported that Sanchez dislocated the shoulder when he was hit by Giants defensive tackle Marvin Austin.

However, CBS Sports reported that the Jets do not believe Sanchez's injury is that serious. Sanchez is planning to seek a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews.

Rookie Geno Smith is starting at quarterback for the Jets.
