Cian O'Connor and Waterford Crystal (2004)

In the 2004 Olympic Games, equestrian athlete Cian O'Connor and his horse Waterford Crystal became national celebrities for winning Ireland's only medal in the Games. The horse, however, tested positive for a prohibited substance, and the medal was taken away.
