Outfield

Orioles outfielders, on the other hand, combined to bat .324, but managed only one home run and five RBI. That won home run was huge, coming in the ninth inning of Sunday's series finale against the Yankees. Adam Jones, who has been struggling at the plate, launched a two-run shot off Mariano Rivera to avert a three-game sweep. Jones finished the week with six hits in 24 at-bats and four RBI. Nick Markakis was largely responsible for the high combined average, with 10 hits in 22 at-bats. Nate McLouth and Nolan Reimold went a combined 6-for-18 in left field. It would have been a very good week with a little more run production, since a couple more runs in the right places would have carried the Orioles to a winning record.
