It’s pretty obvious that the banged-up Ravens defense did not get enough practice time to deal with the multi-faceted “pistol” offense of the Washington Redskins. Maybe another four or five weeks might have done the trick.
Robert Griffin III has carved them up on a pair drives, overcoming a big penalty to make a long first down on the way to the Redskins’ second touchdown. Fortunately for the Ravens, the Redskins defense had just as much trouble against a conventional run-based offense the first time that Ray Rice and Co. were on the field, but that doesn’t bode well for Baltimore.
You have to figure it will be easier for the Redskins to adjust to what the Ravens are doing than vice versa.
