Obviously, 3-0 would have been a nice way for Maryland to start the season before heading into a buzz saw at West Virginia next weekend, but that can’t be helped, so the Terps are going to have to concentrate on getting home safely and opening their ACC season successfully against Wake Forest two weeks after that.

If the Terps are to have any chance of becoming bowl-eligible this year, they’ll have to find a way to win a couple of games in October, which will be no easy task. Home games against Wake and NC State might be winnable, but Virginia (on the road) looks very tough and winning at Boston College will be no easy task.

Maybe Georgia Tech will be vulnerable in early November, if Saturday's performance against Virginia is any indication, but don’t bet on it. This is going to be a long, hard slog and the Terps will have to pull off at least one legitimate upset of a clearly superior team to have any hope of finishing with a .500 record.
