The big lead

For all the frustration that has been wrought by this Orioles team over the past few weeks, it somehow is still very much in play for one of the American League wild card berths. The Yankees refused to lose the last two nights, but the Tampa Bay Rays and Cleveland Indians refused to win, which kept all the serious the contenders for the second wild card berth bunched within two games of each other. If the Orioles can salvage a split of the four-game series against the Yankees tonight, they will still be very much in the hunt with five more series on their regular-season schedule. If there's any Oriole Magic left in this team, this would be a good time to use it.
