Starting rotation
When the only losing performance by a starting pitcher still got the club into the sixth inning with a chance to win the game, it's safe to say that the Orioles rotation had a pretty good week. Orioles starters were 5-1 with a 3.07 ERA -- and that ERA was inflated by five garbage-time runs after the Orioles took a 10-run lead Thursday night. We'll find out tonight if Jake Arrieta has really figured things out, but it's hard to find much fault after back-to-back shutouts in Atlanta.

Showalter doesn't have a clue when to pull a pitcher and it's suddenly costing games.....several games. When Arrieta gave up a single to the Met's pitcher and then one out later a double........HE'S GONE MAN, GONE!! Arrieta, when he's on, is a 5 to 6 inning guy TOPS. I don't know what's wrong with Showalter not pulling these guys when everyone else knows they have to go. He did the same thing the last time Matusz pitched. It was obvious to pinch hit for Matusz in the 6th his last game out. He failed there too and it cost them the game. This game Arrieta ends up walking the next guy and then a grand slam to a .196 hitter. THIS IS ANOTHER ON SHOWALTER'S BACK. HE HAS ABOUT 6 OF THEM SO FAR THIS YEAR. And it's all not knowing when to pull the pitcher. When it comes to that he's pretty inept.
