For much of the past month, the starting rotation pitched well enough ¿ assuming decent offensive support ¿ to propel the Orioles into the postseason, but the big hits didn't come at the right times. Oddly enough, the starters showed signs of fatigue this past week, but the O's still won four of their last five games and took their final two series. Over the final seven games, the rotation combined to go 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA. That ERA, however, was inflated by Scott Feldman's eight-run blowup on Friday. Remove those 2 1/3 innings from the mix and the combined ERA was a respectable 3.58.
