Inconsistency continues to govern the designated hitter role. The guys who normally fill that slot were a combined 2-for-14, with both hits coming from Chris Dickerson (pictured) in Sunday's blowout loss. The only meaningful production out of the DH slot came from Chris Davis when he delivered a two-homer performance while getting a break at first base. Overall, including Davis' 4-for-8 performance in two games, O's DHs combined to go 6-for-22 with two homers and five RBIs. That normally wouldn't be too bad if the RBIs were spread over several games, but they weren't and the Orioles need more than one big performance per week from what is supposed to be a dependable offensive component.
