Orioles phenom Dylan Bundy has reached the next level in a progression that some feel will carry him into the major league rotation before this season is over, though the plan right now is for him to start four games for the Bowie Baysox.
Bundy pitched a perfect first inning against the Erie SeaWolves on Tuesday night at Prince Georges Stadium, needing just eight pitches to get three outs on a groundout and two flyouts.
He is scheduled to make his next start six days from now in Richmond and start two more times after that for Bowie. If the organization keeps him on that schedule, he would make his final minor league start of the regular season on Sept. 1. That, coincidentally enough, is the date that the major league roster limit expands from 25 to 40, so he possibly could be called up to the big club on that date.
