And the hits just kept not coming: The Orioles knew that the series against the Mets was going to be tough, with diabolical R.A. Dickey taking the mound in the opener and Johan Santana starting against them Tuesday night. Apparently, knowing that and doing something about it are two different things. The O's, who closed out the weekend series against the Braves with back-to-back shutouts, didn't score a run until the 26th inning of the Mets series. And still, they had a chance to break even for the road trip in the ninth inning Wednesday and came up a hit short.
