The bottom line

This road trip was a major success before the Orioles arrived at Fenway Park for Sunday's series finale, but it became almost legendary when the O's completed their first road sweep of the Red Sox in 18 years with a surreal 17-inning victory. When your designated hitter strikes out five times in the game and then comes out of the bullpen to pitch two scoreless innings and get the victory, it's easy to overlook all the not-so-clutch things that happened to put the Orioles in that position. Oh, and they came home with the best record in baseball. Imagine that. Grade: A
