If you were worried about Miguel Gonzalez after he lost back-to-back starts for the first time in his Orioles career, join the club. He looked lost against the Royals and Astros, giving up 10 earned runs in just 8 1/3 innings, which was completely out of character for a pitcher who has quickly gained a reputation for being able to minimize the damage when he gets into trouble. Fortunately for the Orioles, the old Miguel Gonzalez dominated the San Diego Padres on Wednesday afternoon, even if he didn't end up getting the victory. He made one mistake pitch that cost him three runs in the sixth inning and had to settle for a no-decision, but it was still an impressive performance and a hopeful sign for the rotation.
