After a summer with Team Takeover's 16-and-under squad, Potomac shooting guard Dion Wiley has emerged this fall as one of the East Coast's most coveted prospects.
NBE Basketball Report recently caught up with Wiley, a four-star recruit and a top Maryland target for 2014.
“My offers are, Maryland, Georgetown, Rutgers, Miami, Cincinnati, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Villanova” and another school he couldn’t recall, at that moment. It’s understandable, as Wiley was going through literally a bucket full of mail from schools throughout the country, while talking; schools are putting the press on him, so to speak. Presently, there is no leader for his services, and a decision is “a long way away.”
Anya told SNY.tv Monday that he was down to N.C. State and Indiana, and said he has no plans to take any additional visits at this time.
Since then sources confirmed to SNY.tv that Indiana is no longer involved in his recruitment, which would potentially leave N.C. State as his top option.
Choosing Baylor will allow Woodson to return close to his Round Rock home where he attended school through 10th grade before playing in Vermont last year. The early signing date is Nov. 14.
Seniors Shatori Walker-Kimbrough (17 kills, 10 blocks) and Sydney Belcastro (25 digs, 3 aces) led the way for Hopewell (20-1).
** Maryland has landed a commitment from Wilde Lake offensive lineman Moise Larose, according to The Washington Post's Eric Detweiler. Larose had been committed to Rutgers. Check back with The Sun later for more on Larose's pledge.
** GoUpState.com posted an update this week on the recruitment of former Terps linebacker pledge Yannick Ngakoue.
He listed his five schools as [South Carolina], Maryland, Tennessee, Miami and West Virginia. He recently visited Virginia and has no other visits set.
