Maryland Madness is shaping up to be a huge recruiting night for the Terps.
According to ESPN.com's Andy Katz, Maryland will play host to the Harrison twins Oct. 12 -- the night of UM's annual season-opening event.
Don't sell Maryland short on the recruiting front, though. Turgeon is still trying to land two of the top four prizes in the class in Andrew and Aaron Harrison, a pair of perimeter players who said they will attend the same school. The Harrison twins are likely going to College Park for Midnight Madness on Oct. 12, according to a source. But Maryland will have to beat out Kentucky to land the pair from Texas, which would be a monumental task. Villanova, SMU and Baylor are also in the mix.
[AAU coach Kamal] Yard said Jordan is considering UCLA, Maryland, Syracuse, Temple and Rutgers at this point.
** Several Terps targets earned spots on CBSSports.com's updated 2013 player rankings. Aaron Harrison is the No. 1 shooting guard; Andrew Harrison is the No. 1 point guard; Roddy Peters is the No. 10 point guard; Jordan is the No. 12 point guard; and Maryland commitment Damonte Dodd is the No. 13 center.
Andrew Harrison (2), Aaron Harrison (4), Peters (47) and Jordan (53) made CBSSports.com's Top 100 list.
** KentuckySports.com spoke to Scout.com's Evan Daniels about the news of the Harrison twins' Maryland Madness visit.
“I think it’s always been [Kentucky and Maryland]. When you interview the Harrison twins, they’re not showing their hand,” Daniels said. “… I think it’s way too early for anybody to call it one way or the other. But, if I was the Kentucky coach, I’d like my positioning.”
