Maryland will play host to one of college basketball's top transfers this weekend.

Evan Smotrycz, a 6-foot-9 forward from Michigan, is scheduled to take an official trip to College Park starting tomorrow. InsideMDSports caught up with the former four-star prospect to talk about his impending visit.

“I kind of grew up on Maryland. They were dominant when I was younger and that was always something I had in the back of my mind."

Smotrycz reportedly plans to visit Colorado next weekend and Providence soon after. The Terps, Buffaloes and Friars compose Smotrycz's final three.

* Four-star power forward Charles Mitchell signed his letter of intent to Maryland on Thursday. Check out video of his signing ceremony below.

* One-time Maryland combo guard commitment Sam Cassell Jr. is scheduled to visit South Florida this weekend, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

"He's down to Maryland, South Florida and Pittsburgh," said Ryan Hurd, Cassell's coach at Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, Mass. "I would be surprised if there's another visit. I think he's pretty much honed in on these three schools."

* Terps shooting guard target Thaddeus Hall was supposed to visit South Carolina this weekend, but according to GoUpState.com, those plans have been canceled.

Hall does not yet have all of his information in to the NCAA Clearinghouse and thus is not eligible to make an official visit. Hall said his last unofficial visit was to St. Johns.
