Rysheed Jordan has visited Maryland once before, but that was an unofficial visit last summer when students were gone and basketball season was still a long ways off. Last weekend, the highly touted junior guard from Vaux Roberts High in Philly made his way back to College Park, watching the Terps take on North Carolina.

“It was good. I think they’ve got a very good crowd. There were a lot of people there,” he said.

Jordan talked briefly with the coaches and then watched the game.

“I think they played pretty good at times. They just made some mistakes late in the game,” he said. “The freshman big guy [Alex Len] stood out. I think he’s gonna be pretty good.”

Jordan, a 6-4 guard who plans to commit in July, is regarded by some as a top-25 overall prospect in the Class of 2013. He said Maryland’s staff is letting him take things at his own pace rather the pressing for an early commitment, but added that coach Mark Turgeon has let him know where he stands on the wishlist.

“He told me I’m No. 1 on their board,” he said.
