Indianapolis will get back-to-back NCAA Regionals

The NCAA announced that Lucas Oil Stadium will host the 2014 Midwest Regional for the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. Already the city is slated to host the same regional this upcoming season.

INDIANAPOLIS - The road to the Final Four will twice come through Indianapolis in as many seasons.

On Monday the NCAA announced that Lucas Oil Stadium will be the host for the 2014 Men's Basketball Midwest Regional in March of that season. It will mark a second consecutive season whic hthe city and venue will do so, since the same regional will be in Indianapolis this coming March.

It will be the 20th and 21st time that a regional has been hosted by Indianapolis, with the last being in 2009.

“The Horizon League is delighted to be once again designated as an institutional co-host for the 2014 Midwest Regional and looks forward to working with NCAA staff, Indiana Sports Corp and the city’s extraordinary volunteers to stage an exceptional event,” said Horizon League Commissioner Jon LeCrone in a release from the Indiana Sports Corp.

The league along with IUPUI will be the official hosts for the event. Indianapolis is also slated to host the 2015 Men's Final Four and the 2016 Women's Final Four.
