INDIANAPOLIS - The pressure was on for everyone who wore the "EG10" logo during a weekend basketball invitational at North Central High School.
It was just a little more for Eron Gordon, because the connection to the name was more personal.
Now it was up to his younger brother to try and continue the success for the Indianapolis family.
"I always take a lot of pride because its my brother's team," said Eron of his squad-and his pride was shown on the court.
Gordon along with the collection of Indiana players at the start of their high school careers managed to work their way through the prestigious Adidas Invitational this weekend. The capped off the successful run by winning the U15 championship game, defeating the Colorado Hawks 58-52 at North Central High School.
"Whenever we come together as a team, that's when we play our best game," said Dwayne Gibson of the team's effort.
Victory came for the group during a big second half run that was paced by Gibson's three-pointers and a solid fast break game by Michael Benkert. The lead got as high as 11 before the Hawks cut it down in the final minutes to make the final margin six.
The players gathered after the game at mid-court to celebrate the triumph and receive the trophy from Adidas officials to end a successful weekend.
"We've worked so hard for this and every team is a good team," said Benkert-who plays for Center Grove High School. "We came out stronger and we've very happy for this."
