Andrew Luck works out for Colts, but will Robert Griffin III?

Colts owner Jim Irsay says the team watched Luck at Stanford Tuesday, but the agent for the former Baylor quarterback says he will not have a private workout for the Colts.

INDIANAPOLIS

The chance of the Colts making Andrew Luck their first selection in the 2012 NFL Draft seems to have gotten a little better on Tuesday.

Owner Jim Irsay said in a tweet that the Colts watched Luck in a private workout on Tuesday at Stanford and that a similar request for former Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III was rejected by his agent.

"A Luck private workout 2day..we want 2b as thorough n disciplined n process of #1 pick..we wanted 2do private with RG3,but his agent said no," said Irsay through his Twitter account.

He was not present at the workout but new head coach Chuck Pagano and general manager Ryan Grigson were there to watch along with a few others from the team, according to a report on ESPN.com.

Indianapolis is likely to draft a quarterback to replace Peyton Manning whom the Colts released in early March and Irsay has indicated such on multiple occasions.

Luck threw for 3,517 yards and 37 touchdowns with 10 interceptions for Stanford last fall in helping the Cardinal reach the Fiesta Bowl. In winning the Heisman Trophy, Griffin threw for the same amount of touchdowns as Luck with just six interceptions.

Griffin also threw for 4,293 yards while also rushing for 699 yards.
