Lardarius Webb, who has emerged as the Ravens' top cornerback, said on his radio show tonight that he's planning on playing Sunday against the San Diego Chargers despite sustaining a toe injury in the Indianapolis Colts game.
"I’m feeling good, just taking it day-by-day," said Webb during his 'Cover 2' radio show on 105.7 The FAN, which is live from Al Packer Ford in Whitemarsh. "We've got to take precaution and just take care of a little soreness."
Webb, while being interviewed by host Rob Long, admitted that he hurt his toe late in the third quarter in the 24-10 victory over Indianapolis. However, he doesn't expect to miss Sunday's game.
"Yes, I’m playing Sunday," Webb said. "If I don’t play Sunday, it’s going to be something that is holding me back. As of now, I’m planning on playing."
Long and Webb were joking about how the cornerback is wearing two different shoes, which I took to mean that he's wearing a boot on the foot which has the toe injury. But admittedly, I'm not there so perhaps I'm not getting the best read on the situation.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Monday that he expects all the players that faced the Colts on Sunday to be available against the Chargers. Obviously, we'll see how the week goes but I would think that Webb will held out of practice earlier in the week.
