Virginia Tech cornerback Kyle Fuller had a recent meeting with his hometown team.
The Mount St. Joseph graduate met with Ravens secondary coach Steve Spagnuolo in Baltimore within the past week, according to a league source.
Fuller is attending the draft in New York City at Radio City Music Hall.
Fuller is a projected first-round draft pick whom NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock has rated as his top cornerback over Michigan State cornerback Darqueze Dennard and Oklahoma State cornerback Justin Gilbert.
"Kyle Fuller is one of my favorite players in the whole draft," Mayock said during a recent conference call. "What's interesting about the corners is that mos t of the personnel guys have
[Ohio State cornerback Bradley] Roby and Gilbert as their highest rated corners just because they have better movement skills.
"Most of the coaches like Fuller and Dennard because they're better football players today. You know what you're getting. Fuller is my No. 1 corner, first- round corner. He has it in his DNA. He can play on, off, he can play man or zone."
Fuller visited the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets, Denver Broncos, St. Louis Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Bengals and the Oakland Raiders. He worked out for the Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers.
Fuller upgraded his draft stock by running the 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds at the NFL scouting combine where he also recorded a 38.5-inch vertical leap, a 10-8 broad jump and bench pressed 225 pounds a dozen times.
A second-team Walter Camp All-American and a first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection last year, Fuller has made a full recovery from sports hernia surgery that sidelined him for a portion of his senior season.
Fuller played 507 snaps last season, 438 on defense and 69 on special teams. In eight starts, he had 24 tackles, two interceptions and 10 pass deflections.
As a junior, he started every game and had 52 tackles, three for losses, two interceptions and five pass deflections.
Fuller is the younger brother of Detroit Lions wide receiver Corey Fuller and former Tennessee Titans safety Vincent Fuller.
