Houston Texans Pro Bowl left offensive tackle Duane Brown won't be blocking Ravens Pro Bowl outside linebacker Terrell Suggs on Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium.
Brown isn't making the trip to Baltimore, ending a streak of 78 consecutive starts. He was listed as questionable on the injury report with a turf toe injury that could keep him out more than a week.
Brown is an elite pass blocking tackle who will be replaced by backup Ryan Harris.
Harris has 36 career starts and is regarded as a solid journeyman lineman.
Suggs has two sacks this season and a history of exploiting less talented offensive tackles.
Brown's absense could affect the Texans' game plan if they need to provide chip-blocking assistance from tight ends to provide help to Harris, taking talented tight ends Owen Daniels and Garrett Graham out of passing patterns.
Meanwhile, the Ravens' biggest injury is to Pro Bowl running back Ray Rice. He's officially listed as doubtful on the injury report and didn't practice all week.
Backup running back Bernard Pierce is slated to make his first NFL start. Rice's left hip flexor strain is regarded as a two-week injury, according to sources.
