"I'm really looking forward to seeing Joe Flacco come into his own, just being one of those premier, elite quarterbacks," said Terrell Suggs on Flacco being more of a vocal leader. (Kevin Richardson/Baltmore Sun video)

Ravens rush linebacker Terrell Suggs was viewed as the Ravens’ vocal leader following the retirement of Ray Lewis and the departure of Ed Reed prior to last season. Suggs didn’t mind occupying that role and he certainly wouldn’t mind sharing it, say with quarterback Joe Flacco.

“Joe is just ‘Cool Joe’ and not all the time,” Suggs said. “He’s not the most vocal, but sometimes we may need that. He may have to cuss somebody out. He may have to cuss me out. It’s good to hear your quarterback get after somebody sometimes. I think it would be a good thing. At the end of the day, we still love “Cool Joe’ though.”

Suggs acknowledged that Flacco has cursed him out before.

“Joe knows how to do his little subliminal slick shots,” Suggs joked. “We’re looking forward to [him being a] little bit more direct.”
