The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year shook his torn right biceps and stretched it out in an effort to loosen up the damaged muscle. He never stopped trying to play, but was held to one tackle during the Ravens' 34-17 loss to the Denver Broncos.
In the locker room afterward, Suggs quickly got dressed and declined an interview request.
"Was he in obvious pain?" Ravens coach John Harbaugh said tersely when asked about Suggs. "Did you ask him about it? I'm not aware of that. I'm not aware of the pain."
Suggs has displayed a lot of toughness this season, overcoming a partially torn right Achilles tendon suffered in April and this latest injury sustained in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Since returning from the Achilles injury, Suggs has recorded 20 tackles, two sacks and four pass deflections.
"I thought he played well," Harbaugh said. "I thought he fought and battled out there and he's got a lot of courage. He's a fighter. I like Terrell Suggs. He's a warrior."
