We just took a quick look at the weather forecast for Sunday’s AFC championship game in Foxborough, Mass.
On Saturday, snow is in the forecast and the high is projected to be 29 degrees. The temperature will be in the mid-30s all day Sunday with a 30 percent chance of showers for the big game at Gillette Stadium.
If the field is slippery Sunday, the advantage would go to the New England Patriots. Quarterback Tom Brady has a strong enough arm to throw tight spirals in all elements, as does Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco. But a slippery field would make it tough on Baltimore defenders as they chase wide receiver Wes Welker and the Patriots' two dangerous tight ends, Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. The receivers know when they are making their cuts and where they want to go. The cornerbacks and safeties do not, which could lead to separation.
We’re not meteorologists, but we’ll try to keep you updated on the weather forecast leading up to the game.
