Ravens LB Sergio Kindle: 'I'm staying patient'

Just as Ravens outside linebacker Sergio Kindle thought he was on the verge of earning more playing time, he was relegated to the bench again.

The former second-round draft pick recorded his first career NFL tackle against the Philadelphia Eagles, a solo stop, during a 24-23 loss two weeks ago.

However, Kindle was a healthy scratch during the Ravens' 31-30 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday night at M&T Bank Stadium.

"I'm staying patient," Kindle said. "All you can do is practice hard and when your number is called, be ready. I just keep working hard. I don't think they explained why I didn't play."

A former All-Big 12 pass rusher at Texas, Kindle missed his entire rookie season with a fractured skull suffered when he fell down two flights of stairs, sustaining permanent hearing loss in his left ear.

Now, Kindle is trying to forge a niche in a defense that needs pass rushers.

"I thought I played all right when I got in there," Kindle said. "I always feel like I can play better."
