Washington Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III has electrified the NFL this year, creating countless highlights with his multi-dimensional game.

Passing for 2,660 yards, 17 touchdowns and just four interceptions for a 104.4 passer rating, the former Baylor star and Heisman Trophy winner has also rushed for 714 yards and six touchdowns.

He's athletic. He's accurate. He's composed, smart, poised and charismatic as the face of the Redskins' franchise.

Griffin becomes the Ravens' latest defensive challenge Sunday at FedEx Field.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh has long been familiar with Griffin dating back to RG3's high school days, when Harbaugh's younger brother, Jim Harbaugh, attempted to recruit him to Stanford.

Ultimately, Andrew Luck, a fellow Houston area prep star who's now quarterbacking the Indianapolis Colts and was the top overall pick of the draft last April, matriculated to Stanford while Griffin stayed in Texas at Baylor.

"You kind of keep an eye on him," Harbaugh said. "You get so focused on your opponent, and you really don't know other than from the little news that we see, how he's doing. Being here in the area, of course, you get a little more of that. We've been following him from afar a little bit, and very impressed, always been impressed with him.

"I knew of him because my brother recruited him four years ago to Stanford. He had recruited both Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III, both out of Houston, both 4.0 students, by the way, so they were Stanford guys. Andrew ended up going there, and obviously RG3 went to Baylor. I've known him for a little while, and I've got a lot of respect for him."
