Redskins CB Cedric Griffin suspended four games for PED violation

Washington Redskins veteran cornerback Cedric Griffin won't be playing Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens at FedEx Field.

Griffin was suspended for the remainder of the regular season, a four-game suspension stemming from a violation of the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy.

Griffin, 30, has registered 30 tackles, four pass deflections and a forced fumble in nine games this season, operating in nickel situations.

Griffin is a seven-year pro who had played extensively this season for the Redskins.

Griffin's suspension will cost him $294,118, four game checks.

The Redskins could turn toward rookie cornerback Richard Crawford again as well as D.J. Johnson.
