The rematch of the past two AFC championship games will no longer take place in primetime.
The league announced today that the Dec. 22 game between the Ravens (7-6) and New England Patriots (10-3) at M&T Bank Stadium, which was originally scheduled to kick off at 8:25 p.m. and be broadcast on NBC, was moved to a 4:25 p.m. game and will now be shown on CBS.
In its place, the league has decided to flex the game featuring the Chicago Bears (7-6) at the Philadelphia Eagles (8-5), into the Sunday night NBC matchup.
The decision is slightly surprising considering the rivalry that has developed over the years between the Ravens and Patriots. The teams have met in three of the past four postseasons, and their next matchup will still carry playoff implications.
New England is trying to secure home-field advantage, while the Ravens are fighting for the sixth and final playoff spot.
