The Ravens practiced indoors this morning to simulate the warmer California weather predicted for Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers, also working up a sweat before heading home to be with their families.
"It's a big day," tight end Ed Dickson said. "My fiancee is making the meal herself for the first time this year. I'm a big supporter of her, she's a great cook. I'm a big macaroni and cheese type of guy.
"It's a perfect time for us with another baby on the way. I've got my son on the way. I'm very thankful for where we are and where we're headed."
Nose guard Terrence Cody said he only supervises the cooking, relying on his girlfriend to put together a traditional Thanksgiving meal.
"I kind of watched her cook, so I feel like I helped," said Cody, adding that his Thanksgiving favorite is sweet potato pie. "I made sure she did everything right. I've been running on E. I didn't eat anything last night. I'm ready to go."
Defensive end Arthur Jones prepared for the turkey and cranberry sauce he's looking forward to consuming by getting in some extra sprints after practice.
"I know I'll put those pounds back on when I go eat," Jones said.
Offensive guard Jah Reid said he's five pounds under his usual weight after a light breakfast. He said he can't wait to dig into ham, biscuits, mashed potatoes and gravy.
And veteran nose guard Ma'ake Kemoeatu, who's listed at 6-foot-5, 345 pounds after weighing more than 400 pounds last year, said he has already made his prescribed weight for the week, so it's time for some grub.
"I'll eat whatever we've got except for shrimp and crab because I'm allergic to them," Kemoeatu said. "I eat everything else. I love turkey. I've got to have that turkey, but not too dry. I like that deep fried turkey. I broke a sweat. Now, it's time to go eat."
