Ravens take a pass on NFL supplemental draft

As expected, the Ravens took a pass on the NFL supplemental draft that was conducted today.

Like every other NFL team, the Ravens didn't deem any of the four eligible players worthy of using a corresponding draft pick in the 2015 regular draft.

This marks the second consecutive year that no players were picked in the supplemental draft, which is held for players who missed the deadline for the regular draft or who had eligibility problems.

The only time the Ravens have selected a player in the supplemental draft was in 2007, when they picked Maryland offensive tackle Jared Gaither in the fifth round.

The most intriguing player that was eligible for this year's supplemental draft was Virginia-Lynchburg defensive tackle LaKendrick Ross, a raw 6-foot-5, 360-pounder who has bench-pressed 225 pounds 47 times and can dunk a basketball. He's battled academic eligibility problems, however. The Ravens weren't among the 11 teams that attended Ross' workout earlier this week.

The other eligible players were Southern Methodist running back Traylon Shead, North Carolina linebacker Darius Lipford and New Mexico wide receiver-running back Chase Clayton.
