Ravens strong safety James Ihedigbo has been fined $15,750 by the NFL for unnecessary roughness, according to a league spokesman.
Ihedigbo was punished because he "struck a defenseless player with the crown of his helmet."
The safety was penalized for unnecessary roughness and illegal contact during the Ravens' 34-17 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in their season finale.
On the fourth-quarter hit, Ihedigbo led with his head on a hit on wide receiver Marvin Jones at the Bengals' sideline.
There were no other fines issued from the Ravens' game vs. the Bengals, in which Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict was called for unnecessary roughness and Bengals cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct.
