Today marks Ravens Pro Bowl running back Ray Rice's 26th birthday.
And the birthday offers a reminder of just how much Rice has already accomplished in five seasons since being drafted in the second round out of Rutgers.
He's rushed for 5,520 yards and 33 touchdowns in his career, also catching 311 passes for 2,713 yards and six touchdowns. He ranks second in franchise history behind Jamal Lewis for rushing yards and touchdowns.
Rice has been selected for the Pro Bowl three times.
And now he's headed to the Super Bowl for the first time.
Immediately after the Ravens' 28-13 AFC championship victory over the New England Patriots, Rice was thinking about what's next.
"Ray [Lewis] told me my life was going to change," Rice said. "It will sink in, trust me. I get to celebrate my birthday on Tuesday. It's just life, man. You can't deny this feeling."
On his Twitter account, Rice wrote the following note: "Thank you lord for allowing me to see my 26th birthday # blessed"
