The Ravens announced Tuesday afternoon that restricted free agent Dannell Ellerbe had re-signed with the team. The inside linebacker was given a second-round restricted tender by the Ravens last month.
Under the second-round tender, Ellerbe will make $1.93 million this season, his fourth in the league.
Ellerbe, 26, was signed as an undrafted rookie free agent before the 2009 season. He has started in seven games over the past three seasons, making 90 tackles and recording one sack in 33 career games.
With veteran inside linebacker Ray Lewis sidelined for four games last season, Ellerbe made three starts alongside Jameel McClain, who signed a three-year contract to remain in Baltimore last month.
The Ravens have Lewis, Ellerbe, McClain, Brendon Ayanbadejo and Albert McClellan returning to their linebacker corps in 2012, but there is a chance they may still address the position in next week’s draft.
Cornerback Cary Williams is now the team's only unsigned restricted free agent. The Ravens are negotiating a contract extension with Williams, who is represented by the same agency as cornerback Lardarius Webb.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
