Against the Rams, the Ravens cornerbacks have to regain some confidence and go back to being aggressive.
Against the Titans last Sunday, the Ravens got burned early and then played on their heels for the rest of the game. There were times when the Ravens were bringing seven man pressure on Tennessee quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, and their cornerbacks were still playing eight to ten yards off the line of scrimmage.
Most teams play press coverage when they are bringing a lot of pressure. Even inside the red zone, Ravens cornerbacks were playing back off the line of scrimmage. After a while, the entire defense got out of sync even though the front seven played reasonably well.
If the secondary can force some turnovers early and get the Rams out of their rhythm, it would do a lot for this group's confidence.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
