With the afternoon high expected to climb into the mid-90s Thursday, the Ravens elected to move practice to their indoor field at their headquarters in Owings Mills. Fans were still allowed to watch from inside the bubble that protects the field.

“We came inside to get out the heat,” coach John Harbaugh said via a statement distributed by Kevin Byrne, senior vice president of public and community relations. “We’ve had outstanding work out in it since the start of camp, and we changed it up today. I’m not sure it was because we came inside, but we had a sharp, crisp, fast practice today. You could see the coaches are very pleased.”

Count defensive coordinator Dean Pees as one of those coaches.

“It was actually kind of good being in here just from the standpoint of getting out of that sun for just a little bit,” Pees said after Thursday’s session. “I think John made a wise choice in getting out of that, and I’m sure that’s what the thought process was.”
