The Ravens aren't ruling out the possibility that tight end Ed Dickson and inside linebacker Dannell Ellerbe could return for Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins.
Both starters were sidelined with injuries for a 23-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Dickson injured his right knee against the San Diego Chargers, and Ellerbe hurt his right foot and ankle.
"Dannell Ellerbe is continuing to work, and we anticipate he's got a chance to get back this week," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. "We were hopeful for this past game, but it just didn't work out. We took him right to gameday, and he was unable to go.
"Ed Dickson did some running today, so we are just going to see how that knee continues to develop. There is no injury in there. It was kind of a hyperextension deal, so he has a chance."
Harbaugh offered no substantive update on injured middle linebacker Ray Lewis, who remains on the injured reserve-designated to return list after tearing his right triceps against the Dallas Cowboys and undergoing surgery. Lewis is expected to return at some point this season, but has yet to resume practicing.
"Ray is here rehabbing," Harbaugh said. "So, we'll see how that goes this week going forward. Nothing to report there. When there is, we'll let you know. We'll just see how that goes this week, and we'll let you know."
Cornerback Jimmy Smith remains out after having sports hernia surgery earlier this month.
"Jimmy Smith continues to get better," Harbaugh said. "So, he will be moving around a little this week. We'll see how that goes."
