Ravens rookie defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore's first NFL season became the equivalent of a medical redshirt.

Lewis-Moore sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament during the BCS national title game against Alabama in January.

The sixth-round draft pick from Notre Dame practiced for three weeks before ultimately remaining on the reserve non-football injury list, ending his season.

Now, Lewis-Moore is headed toward a full offseason in which he'll be able to participate in the Ravens' conditioning program, organized team activities and minicamps.

"I look forward to next year and keep getting the knee healthier," said Lewis-Moore, who had 40 tackles, six sacks and two forced fumbles as a senior for the Fighting Irish. "They knew my situation coming in with the ACL. Being able to practice and getting my timing back will help out a lot.

"I feel like I was getting closer. I got some work in, felt pretty good. All I can do is keep getting better, getting the knee healthier and get ready for next season."
