“It definitely takes a team to win, so no one guy is more important than the team,” Reed said. “I know Terrell. He’s a young guy, so he’s definitely got that on his side. He’s going to have to rehab. I was going to call him today and let him know that. The most important thing is going to be how he attacks his rehab.”
“We know what Terrell Suggs brings to the table, the fear that he puts in quarterbacks’ heads. So he’s definitely going to be missed,” said Reed, who was sidelined for six games at the start of the 2010 season. “But even when I was out, you had guys step up. The organization does a great job of bringing guys in there.”
On Thursday, hours after the news of Suggs’ injury broke, Ravens linebacker and special teams captain Brendon Ayanbadejo trumpeted a similar message in a phone interview with The Baltimore Sun.
“He’s the best defensive player in the National Football League,” Ayanbadejo said. “He’s irreplaceable. There aren’t many guys out there who can do what he does for us. But we have a lot of talent on defense and we will be able to bounce back.”
