Ravens Pro Bowl defensive tackle Haloti Ngata was named to the NFL Network top 100 players list tonight, ranking 42nd overall in balloting by players.

Ngata ranked ninth on the list in 2012 and 17th in 2011.

The 6-foot-4, 330-pounder was named to his fourth consecutive Pro Bowl last season.

Ngata recorded 51 tackles, finishing second on the team with five sacks despite missed two games due to minor injuries.

Ngata injured his knee during the Ravens' Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers, but he has made a sound recovery by all accounts.

Ngata is expected to report at a lighter weight this season after bulking up a year ago and has been making efforts to get leaner this offseason.

The 2006 first-round draft pick from Oregon has started 106 regular-season games, registering 444 career tackles, 22 sacks, three interceptions, 21 pass deflections, five fumble recoveries and four forced fumbles.

Ngata is playing under a five-year, $61 million contract with $37.1 million in guaranteed money, including a $25 million signing bonus and a $10 million option bonus.

Ngata is expected to line up more often at nose guard this season with Terrence Cody still recovering from offseason hip surgery and a disappointing season last year.

The Ravens drafted Missouri Southern defensive tackle Brandon Williams in the third round and he's expected to challenge Cody for the starting nose guard job.
