It's been a long journey for Ravens cornerback Marrio Norman to get to the NFL.
Norman, 28, had stints with three Arena Football League teams, including the Cleveland Gladiators, Orlando Predators and the Georgia Force, before being signed by the Ravens this month due to injuries at the cornerback position.
"It definitely makes you appreciate everything," Norman said. "It's real nice to get back on grass. This has always been my dream. Arena Football was just my platform to get here."
This week, the 6-foot-1, 205-pounder from Coastal Carolina was named All-Arena Football League. Before being signed by the Ravens, Norman had a dozen interceptions to rank second in the league and was the Gladiators' second-leading tackler. Last year, Norman had seven interceptions for the Gladiators.
"It feels real great to be here, it's a dream come true," said Norman, a former All-Big South Conference selection in college. "I'm eager to learn and showcase my talents. I bring my ball-hawking abilities to the table.
"When the time comes, I just want to do my job. It's going pretty good so far. I'm just learning the system and taking it one day at a time."
